Microsoft installed the cheapest parts they could, including low-quality lead free solder (primary cause of RRoD for the GPU), impure thermal paste (a secondary cause), and noisy fans. Talismoon’s replacement case fans greatly reduce the hot/cold stresses placed on the system, and installing new fans is one of the best things you can do you prevent a RRoD. Microsoft said the unit was “Wi-Fi Ready” – the adaptor card is an optional extra, though. Microsoft has released a new system update for their Xbox 360 console. Unfortunately, it only addresses numerous ‘interruption issues’ that were present and does not bring any new features to the system.
