Emulation takes a long time. Even though a PC appears more powerful then a console on paper, getting all of those PC parts to “act” as a console is a whole different can of beans. Emulating something totally different that’s almost as powerful as what your trying to emulate it on isn’t going to work.

Xbox 360 refurbished systems is much smaller than its predecessor–it measures approximately 3.3 by 12.2 by 10.2 inches and weighs 7.7 lbs. It’s powered by custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU with three symmetrical cores each running at 3.2 GHz. Xbox 360 Refurbished Units are customer returns that have been inspected, tested, cleaned, and repackaged by Microsoft. They retain their original specifications for electrical performance, but may have minor cosmetic imperfections.

Releasing a external Blu-ray drive and market it as a Blu-ray movie playback only device just like the HD-DVD drive was only for playing movies. People who own a Xbox 360 and would like to playback Blu-ray movies without purchasing another console could now do so. Releasing the player next month would actually be ideal, coinciding with the release of the Xbox 360 exclusive game from Epic, Gears of War 2. Both products would be extremely competitive against the PlayStation 3 and even Nintendo?s Wii console.

Like with many consumer categories, the WSJ points to to NPD numbers for November 2008, prime time for holiday shopping. While Nintendo and Microsoft saw their sales jump 100 percent and 8 percent respectively over November 2007, Sony saw PS3 sales drop 19 percent. Line up the specs for the 360 Elite and the 1st gen PS3 20gig, besides hard drive its no contest. Then the breakdown problams for 360s are like 10 to 1 with the PS3.
